Posoned town (from the EP Impact Statement)

The words of ‘Poisoned town’ are influenced by victim impact statements and statements from the perpetrator for street crime. The song describes the emotional gulf between the grief of the family and the cold detachment of the perpetrator which is this case is representative of the growing immorality in society.

The full track is split into two parts, in the first part 'Poisoned town' you can hear the sound of children playing, 'a blank piece of paper', which have yet to be influenced by the streets they live in, the games/films they play/see and the people who surround them. However even with all these factors the conclusion is that we all have a choice; which way we should turn and how we should act and we are all responsible for our own actions. The second part of this track is a reflection of the real results created by street crime and gangs not the glorification created by the powerful media of games and film.

Part 2 Virtual Cut -
Featuring Ruth Jenkins,

In April the track ‘Virtual Cut (Impact Statement part2)’ was released in its instrumental format as part of the EP, Impact Statement. The final version was always meant to have a chorus based a variation of the ‘Poisoned town’ track. You can hear the finalised second part by clicking the player.
Ruth has performed with Sir Thomas Allen and Malcolm Martineau at Auckland Castle, with Stephen Cleobury and the Choir of King's College Cambridge at St. David's Hall in Cardiff, with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Gentlemen of St. John's College Cambridge and with the Brandenburg Sinfonia at St. Martin-in-the-Fields.

'The theme of both Poisoned Town and Virtual Cut comes from Brierley's observation of the devastating aspects of street violence and its effects on many victims' friends and families. Poisoned Town, although is lyrically based on unfortunate events, has a catchy, smooth melody.
Brierley dazzles the listener with his brilliant use of the synthesizer like always, but in this particular song he also includes a beautiful piano solo during the second half of the track. Of all his releases, I’d say this one is my favorite so far.'
"Solid Impact Beautiful Statement by 5 star debut. I have a real feel for this new EP from Adam. All four tracks are what I really like to hear. From the great inner city statement made on Poisoned Town. That carries through to the beutiful rolling piano on Virtual Cut. And then on to the real shivery. Almost ghostly beauty that is Bend Your Mind. And coming to it's excellent conclusion. Maybe a little too soon. On the very progressive heartbeat. That is Stay In The light. This is truly brilliant work from this great singer. Really worth the pennies spent here. And leaves me eagerly awaiting whatever comes next...... Impact Statement is a proper gem. And thoroughly deserving of a 5 star rating. " — by 5 star debut. , itunes

The music you'll love tomorrow!

http://acuvi.org/2009/10/23/inner-voices/ Inner Voices is the creation of Adam Brierley, a new artist known for his creative and unique way of making music. The forthcoming EP “Impact Statement” consists of four tracks; Poisoned town (part 1 impact statement), Virtual Cut (part 2 impact statement), Stay in the Light and Bend Your Mind. Poisoned town. Thele by a classical inspired piano and classical rock guitar riffs makes this music sound a bit epic and sad at the same time. Stay in the Light This song has some good bits of everything; the lyrics are genius and very well written. The part “I want to rip the dark chapter away, I wanted to make you feel tall” is uplifting and suit the music perfectly. The opening is inspiring and makes you want to continue to listen to the song. And the theme through the song is unique; you can spot elements from psychedelic-new wave to alternative-acoustic (and gentle) guitar riffs and proper rock. This, combined with some great and emotional vocal work, makes this to a real masterpiece. “Stay in the Light” was nominated in five different categories in the final round of Effigy awards by ABC radio/MMI Fame Games, in January 2009. For: best overall song, best song in general rock category, best songwriting, best production and most popular song.
